National Coming Out Day

Support the LGBTQ community at Ohio State by contributing to the National Coming Out Day Advertisement fundraiser to support our student scholarship program!

For over 30 years, members and friends of Ohio State’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community have published an ad in The Lantern for National Coming Out Day (NCOD). Scarlet and Gay began coordinating the NCOD ad fundraiser when we became an alumni society, and we’re celebrating our 22nd anniversary this year! The deadline to donate and have your name appear in the NCOD ad (if desired) is Wednesday, October 11. It will run in the Lantern on October 19. Click here to learn more about the history of the NCOD ad and how it has become a symbol of Ohio State as an inclusive and welcoming home for the LGBTQ community.

If you have donated in previous years, thank you! We also ask that you encourage other members of our community to contribute through personal contacts or by sharing this information on social media. If you have any questions about the NCOD ad, please contact Matt Hall.

Lastly, we always encourage alumni and current students who are part of the LGBTQ community (including allies) to self-identify through the alumni association to receive communication regarding Scarlet and Gay events and leadership opportunities.

Sincerely,

Matt Hall (he/him)
