OSULA’S successful virtual yoga event continues on Wednesdays in May

The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Los Angeles (OSULA) held its first Virtual Event on May 6 that was extremely well received by Buckeye fans — a yoga class with Katie Nesbitt, yoga instructor and founder of Soulscape Retreats, all the way from Bali.

The event was so successful that OSULA has arranged with Nesbitt to continue to hold the class weekly on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. PDT throughout the month of May.

“Thanks to all 22 Buckeye participants for joining us in our first online yoga class,” says Urvi Sutariya, OSULA Executive Board member and event organizer. “We appreciate you making our virtual event successful and thanks your interest in continuing the classes.  Also, we’d like to give a huge shoutout to Katie for teaching the class and helping Buckeye fans stay mentally and physically sharp during these challenging times of social distancing. Namaste!”

According to Nesbitt, “this online vinyasa yoga class helps you strengthen and open your body, while bringing greater feelings of focus and peace to your mind.

“We begin with a centering meditation before moving into stronger yoga postures and flows, and end with gentle stretches and a calming savasana,” she adds.  “Variations to yoga poses will also be offered. So, whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi, you will benefit greatly from this class, ultimately bringing greater harmony to your mind, body and spirit.”

Anyone interested in participating on Wednesdays is reminded to preregister for one or all of the weekly sessions. Once you have preregistered, you will receive an email with the information on how to join the Zoom call each week.
