Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

In August, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee sent out a survey to alumni to seek input and gain a better understanding of the diversity interest areas within our alumni society.  Click here to view the executive summary of the results.  The committee will utilize this information to prioritize programming moving forward and allow us to tailor to specific targeted areas of interest.  Thank you to everyone who participated in this survey.

2020 Management Institute

A 20/20 Vision of Health Equity

On October 2, more than 200 people attended our virtual Management Institute. The afternoon was anchored by esteemed speakers, Vetta Sanders-Thompson, PhD and Michellene Davis, Esq.  The event included a panel that discussed the intersection of public health, government, and health care organizations in health equity.  Thank you to Ed Michelson, MD, FACEP, Ursel J McElroy, MA, Jahmal Miller, MHA, DHL, Thomas Quade, MPH, MA, and Lisa R Sloane, ’07 MHA for an enlightening conversation.

We are thankful to our sponsors: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Buckeye Health Plan, Cleverley & Associates, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and HSG for bringing us together to learn how to lead in a world that has health equity. Special thanks to Zeb Purdin ’15 (chair), Mary O’Connell ’10 (co-chair), Anton Johnson ’16 (program chair), and the rest of the committee. Please contact Mary O’Connell, 2021 MI Chair, at oconnell.maryk@gmail.com if you are interested in joining next year’s planning committee.

If you did not get a chance to join us on October 2, we encourage you to listen to the recordings of the sessions.
